The LIDAR ISLAND Museum of Fine Art
The Lidar Island Museum of Fine Art is the curatorial home of the visual works of Joseph J. Washington—a private institution devoted to preserving artistic expression, provoking perception, and revealing what ordinary observation leaves concealed.
Its collection spans contemporary, conceptual, abstract, documentary, installation, and digital media. Each work is presented as an individual artistic object rather than a disposable reproduction. Limited editions and artist’s proofs are catalogued, individually designated, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity documenting the work’s title, medium, dimensions, edition status, and provenance.
The Museum exists not simply to display art, but to establish the conditions under which it may be properly encountered: with attention, silence, and respect for the intention from which it emerged.
Preserve. Provoke. Reveal.
